Pink WhatsApp Scam: Know How to Remain Safe from this Online Fraud

A new WhatsApp scam has started to con innocents. The scamsters behind this online cheating are luring gullible users through hoax messages that promise a new pink version of the WhatsApp app with exciting new features.

But if anyone clicks on the link for Pink Whatsapp, then his or her device gets hacked by online fraudsters.

Cyber experts and police have warned the public to refrain from downloading the Pink WhatsApp.  The legitimate WhatsApp app should only be downloaded from sources like the Google Play Store and App Store.

The Mumbai Police have issued a warning about the Pink WhatsApp scam along with some tips.

–Do not click on links from unknown sources or links sent by someone you don’t know.

–Install apps only from official sources like Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

— Do not share your personal or financial information online, such as your login credentials, passwords, or credit card details.

If you have already clicked on a link from the Pink WhatsApp scam, then scan your device for malware using antivirus and anti-malware programs available.

–Change your passwords for all online accounts, if you have entered your login credentials on a compromised device.

–Report the scam to the police.
