Tight Security for Holi in Bhubaneswar: Cops to Patrol Roads, Bathing Ghats

Bhubaneswar: As the vibrant festival of Holi approaches, the Commissionerate Police in Odisha’s capital is gearing up to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for residents and visitors alike. With March 26 (Tuesday) marked for the festivities, authorities have announced the deployment of at least 15 platoons of police personnel across various key locations in the city.

To maintain peace and security during the colourful festivities, the Commissionerate Police will strategically position security personnel and members of the Strike Force at 31 crucial points throughout the city. Additionally, 17 mobile teams will be on standby to monitor and swiftly respond to any instances of anti-social behaviour.

In efforts to ensure the safety of revellers, police presence will be particularly notable at the city’s four bathing ghats. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to cracking down on drunk driving and will be vigilant in enforcing strict penalties. Furthermore, stalls selling chemical colours will be closely monitored to prevent any potential hazards to public health.

Leveraging modern technology, the police will utilize footage from CCTV cameras strategically installed across the city to keep a close watch on any suspicious activities or anti-social elements.
