Finance company employee plummets to death off hotel room in Puri

Puri: In a shocking incident, a Bhubaneswar-based finance company employee was killed after falling off a posh hotel located here on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Lingaraj Sahoo, an employee of Annapurna Finance Limited.

Lingaraj had been to the pilgrim town in a business meeting and was staying at the Sea Sight hotel along with his colleagues since Thursday. However, he was busy in some work on the balcony of his room in the wee hours today when lost balance and plunged down.

It is suspected that the victim was in an inebriated condition at the time of the mishap.

Hotel staff discovered his body on the hotel premises by the morning and rushed to hospital but by then he had passed away.

Police have recovered the body of Lingaraj for autopsy and launched an investigation into the death.
