Daring Heist at Cuttack’s Central Cooperative Bank: ₹14 Lakh Looted, Police Launch Manhunt

Cuttack: In a daring heist on Thursday night, miscreants looted the Central Cooperative Bank’s Banki branch in Cuttack district, making off with Rs 14 lakh in cash.

The perpetrators, suspected to be experienced in such operations, meticulously executed their plan by cracking the bank’s vault and snatching away hard disks and computers while disabling CCTV cameras, showcasing a deliberate attempt to cover their tracks.

Locals discovered the aftermath in the morning when they noticed the broken bank door. The burglars gained access by breaking the entry grill, utilizing gas cutters to breach both the door and the treasury box. Although attempts were made to crack a locker containing additional cash, they were unsuccessful.

The audacious heist has sparked outrage and concern among citizens, who are questioning the bank’s security measures for safeguarding such a substantial amount of cash. The incident has prompted immediate action from authorities, with Cuttack SP and senior police officials swiftly initiating a comprehensive investigation to unmask the culprits and recover the stolen money.
