Special Squad Arrests 4 Mine Mafias in Khordha; Cache of Illegal Weapons Seized

Khordha: The Special Squad, in collaboration with Tamando Police, have successfully arrested four notorious mine mafias in the Khordha area. The accused, identified as Sanjay Khuntia (34) alias Bapuni, Siba Kumar Nali, Batakrushna Pani, and Prakash Routray, all have prior criminal records.

During the operation, the police recovered a cache of illegal weapons and equipment from the accused. Among the seized items were a 9mm carbine automatic assault rifle, two carbine magazines, and 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Additionally, two 7.65mm semi-automatic pistols, two magazines, and eight rounds of bullets were confiscated. Apart from the firearms, seven mobile phones and three four-wheelers were also seized during the operation.

DCP Prateek Singh stated during a press conference that possession of the carbine is strictly prohibited under the Arms Act, and violators will face severe punishment.

This successful operation by the Special Squad and Tamando Police has dealt a significant blow to the criminal activities in the Khordha area, and it highlights the commitment of the authorities to maintain law and order in the region.
