Major Fire Engulfs Edible Oil Factory in Khordha, No Casualties Reported

Khordha: A massive fire broke out at a prominent edible oil factory in Khordha district on Thursday afternoon, sending plumes of black smoke billowing across the sky. The blaze engulfed the warehouse of Universal Infra & Agri Oil Pvt Ltd, located within the Sarua Industrial Estate under Baghamari police limits.

While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, initial investigations suggest a possible ignition of packaging materials stored in the factory’s godown. An electric short circuit is also being considered as a potential trigger.

Firefighting crews immediately responded to the emergency, deploying three fire tenders to douse the blaze. Authorities are currently working to contain the fire and bring the situation under control.

No casualties have been reported so far, although the extent of damage to the factory and its property is yet to be assessed.
