Neeraj Chopra Soars to Number-One Ranking in Men’s Javelin Throw

New Delhi: Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has achieved yet another remarkable feat by securing the number-one ranking in Men’s Javelin Throw.

Following his historic performance at the Doha Diamond League Event, Neeraj has become the first Indian athlete to claim the top spot.

Maintaining his exceptional form, Neeraj remains highly focused as he sets his sights on the upcoming Paris Olympics in 2024.

With an impressive total of 1455 points, Neeraj Chopra leads the rankings, closely followed by Anderson Peters from Grenada with 1433 points and Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic with 1416 points. Neeraj’s consistent progress suggests that he may continue to break records, and his next opportunity to showcase his talents will be at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in Hengelo, Netherlands on June 4.

In the opening event of his 2023 season, 25-year-old Neeraj Chopra secured a gold medal at the prestigious Diamond League series in Doha on May 5. His remarkable throw of 88.67m not only set a world-leading mark but also came remarkably close to his personal best and national javelin record of 89.94m, achieved in a previous competition.

Neeraj’s upcoming schedule includes participation in the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in Hengelo, Netherlands on June 4, followed by the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland on June 13.
