WTC Points Table: Pakistan Takes Top Spot, India Second After West Indies Series

The Indian team was unable to secure full points from the two-match Test series against West Indies in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 as the second game concluded in a draw due to heavy rain, leading to a complete washout on the final day in Port of Spain.

The first Test saw India dominating and securing a comprehensive victory with an innings and 141 runs, granting them a 1-0 lead in the series. In the second Test, India declared their second innings at 181 for 2, setting a challenging target of 365 runs for the West Indies to level the series.

However, torrential rain disrupted the match on the fourth day, and despite the West Indies being 76 for two in their second innings, no further play was possible on the fifth day, resulting in the Test being called off.

As a result of the draw, India earned 16 points out of the possible 24, bringing their PCT (percentage of points won) to 66.67 percent. This places them second in the WTC 2023-25 points table, right behind Pakistan, who currently hold 100 percent after winning their first Test against Sri Lanka.

Despite the disappointment of the draw due to weather conditions, both teams showcased their prowess, making the series an exciting part of the WTC cycle. Fans eagerly await the upcoming matches that promise to deliver thrilling cricket moments.
