Babies Sold for Rs 5 Lakh, CBI Busts Child Trafficking Racket in Delhi

New Delhi: During raids by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at several locations across Delhi in connection with child trafficking, two newborn babies were rescued from a house in Keshavpuram.

According to CBI sources, as part of this racket, newborns were being bought and sold in the black market. As per reports, the newborns were being transacted for exorbitant prices of Rs 4-5 Lakh.

The CBI is interrogating both the woman who sold the children and the buyers.

The CBI has arrested individuals involved in the trafficking of seven to eight children across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Among those arrested are a hospital ward boy and several other women. According to CBI sources, during the past one month, around 10 newborns have been sold. The CBI investigation has now spread its reach across multiple states. Several hospitals are now under the scrutiny of the CBI.
