Odisha Kendrapara Dist Declares January 17 & 22 as Dry Days

Kendrapara: As a mark of honour for the days on which the Puri Heritage Corridor Project is being inaugurated and consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is being done, the Kendrapara district administration in Odisha has declared January 17 and 22 as dry days.

The Kendrapara district collector Amrit Ruturaj issued a notification regarding it on Tuesday. As per the notification, all liquor shops in the Kendrapara district will remain closed on January 17 for the inauguration of Sri Mandir Parikrama Prakalpa in Puri and on January 22 for consecration of Ram Temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

On Monday, the leaders of BJP and Congress appealed to the state government to declare dry day on the two occasions.

The state government has already declared public holiday on January 17 for the inauguration of the heritage corridor project at Jagannath temple in Puri.
