Bhubaneswar: The Union Government gave a green signal to Utkela Airport in Odisha’s Kalahandi district to start flight operations.
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), in the exercise of the powers under Rule 78 of the Aircraft Rules, 1937 delegated vide S.O no. 727 (E) dated 4th October, 1994, herby grants licence to the Government of Odisha for Utkela Airport, said a notification issued by the Centre on Monday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik welcomed the Centre’s decision regarding Utkela Airport. “Flight operations between Bhubaneswar and Bhawanipatna will start soon. It will give an impetus to connectivity, economic activities, and tourism,” said Patnaik.
