Schools, AWCs in 5 Blocks of Jajpur, 4 Blocks in Bhadrak Closed Today for Flood Situation

Bhubaneswar: All government and private schools as well as Anganwadi centres in five blocks of Jajpur district were directed by the district administration to remain closed on Friday because of the flood situation.

Jajpur district collector Chakravarti Singh Rathore directed the local authorities of Bari, Dashrathpur, Jajpur, and Binjharpur blocks and Jajpur Municipality to suspend classes for schools and AWCs on Friday.

In Bhadrak district, the rising water level in the Baitarani river prompted the district administration to declare holidays for schools in four blocks of the district. These blocks are Bhandaripokhari, Tihidi, Dhamnagar and Chandbali.

According to reports, the Baitarani river was flowing above the danger level at Akhuapada in the district, Friday morning.
