India’s star opener Smriti Mandhana has surged to fourth place in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for batters, surpassing South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. Mandhana’s climb comes after a strong performance in the recent ODI series against Australia, where she averaged 31.50 with 63 runs. Meanwhile, England’s Nat Sciver Brunt, Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, and Australia’s Beth Mooney occupy the top three spots in the batting chart. India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur remains static at the 10th position.
In the bowling rankings, England’s Sophie Ecclestone leads the chart, while Indian spinner Deepti Sharma slipped to fourth place. However, Deepti Sharma moved up to fifth place in the ODI allrounder list.
South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp made significant strides, climbing to second place in the bowling rankings after an impressive performance against Australia, where she grabbed four wickets in the last two ODIs. Kapp also excelled with the bat, retaining eighth position in batting and consolidating her top ranking in the all-rounders’ list.
South Africa’s Chloe Tryon and several Australian players also saw improvements in their rankings. Tahlia McGrath, for instance, moved up to 30th place among batters after being named Player of the Match in the final ODI against South Africa.
Additionally, South Africa’s Anneke Bosche and Masabata Klaas, along with Australia’s Alana King and Kim Garth, made notable progress in the rankings.
