Snake Found in Mid-Day Meal at Bihar Govt School; Causes Mass Illness Among Students

Araria (Bihar): A chaotic situation erupted in a government school in Bihar as a snake was discovered in the mid-day meal served to the children on Saturday. The incident occurred at a government school located in Forbesganj, a district in Araria. Numerous children fell ill after consuming the meal and were subsequently admitted to a hospital in Forbesganj for necessary medical care.

According to reports, the children were being served a nutritious ‘khichdi’ prepared by a non-governmental organization (NGO) as part of the mid-day meal program when a snake was found in one of the plates.

Once news of the incident spread throughout the school, the distribution of food was immediately halted. Unfortunately, the students who had already consumed the meal began experiencing vomiting, prompting swift action to transport them to the Forbesganj hospital.

In response to the alarming situation, senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), promptly arrived at the scene to assess the gravity of the situation. An investigation into the incident is currently underway, with further details eagerly anticipated.
