Woman Injured as Gun Battle, Arson Continues in Manipur

Manipur: A woman was injured in the exchange of fire between suspected militants and security forces in Manipur’s Churachandpur district. This gun battle continued for the past 48.

Reports of 10 abandoned houses and one school being burnt down have also come up from Manipur.

The exchange of fire that started late Saturday continued till Monday morning. The suspected militants also threw crude bombs at the security forces.

Since the video clip of two women being paraded naked by a mob became viral, Churachandpur is witnessing massive protest rallies.

So the ethnic clashes in Manipur have claimed at least 150 lives and displaced over 40,000 people from their homes.
