A tableau showcasing the assassination of late Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards was taken out on a 5-km long parade in Brampton of Canada on June 4.
A video of this tableau that can be termed as a shocking mischief by the Khalistani supporters is making rounds on social media. The tableau also displayed Khalistan flags with a poster saying “revenge”. This anti-India tableau coincided with the 39th anniversary of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Bluestar’ in Amritsar between June 1 and 8, 1984.

Then Indian PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated at her residence in New Delhi on 31 October 1984. ‘Operation Bluestar’ was ordered by Indira Gandhi to flush out militants led by Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale holed up in the Golden Temple complex.
Khalistani elements continue to resort to anti-India activities in Canada. In the recent past, they have vandalized several temples with ‘anti-India’ graffiti.
India has already expressed strong concern regarding the actions of pro-Khalistani extremist elements in Canada.
