Public Hearing on MGNREGA In Mayurbhanj’s Udala

Udala: A public hearing on the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and National Social Assistance Programme was held in Mayurnhanj’s Udala block on Friday.

According to reports, in the last financial year, an expenditure of Rs 1149.33 crore was sanctioned and a total of Rs 2215.91 crore was spent on development projects in the Udala area. A total of 1211 new projects have been taken up, out of which 665 are still in progress.

Mayurbhanj District Council Assistant Executive Officer (Administration) Dekshisha Mohapatra, Ms. Devjani Bhuyan, Udala Block Development Officer, Assistant Executive Engineer, Udala, Mr. Satyajit Sahu, Udala Block Chairman, Manjulata Biswal, Block Vice-Chairman, Rajni Das and Representative of Mayurbhanj MP, Prabhat Barik took cognizance of the complaints and asked concerned authorities to address the issues at the earliest.

In this public hearing program, Block Development Officer Ms. Devjani Bhuyan and Assistant Executive Officer of Mayurbhanj Zilla Parishad Dekshisha Mohapatra instructed all government functionaries present to provide full details about the upcoming progress of their work.

All sarpanchs of 12 panchayats, Panchayat Samiti members, all working Junior Engineers, PIOs, GRS, and general workers were present during the public hearing. Udala block office official Jyotiprakash Behera assisted in the management of the meeting.
