Mayadhar was returning home after tending to his farmland when he was attacked by a swarm of bees. He was rushed to the Kamakhyanagar Hospital and later transferred to the district headquarters hospital, but he died during treatment.

Jhumar Sethi was also attacked by bees while returning home after a bath. He was admitted to Kamakshyanagar Hospital in critical condition, but he too died of the bee stings.

Former sarpanch of Kadua panchayat, Somnath Sethi, said that there is a persistent beehive near the panchayat office. The villagers have tried to remove the beehive in the past, but the bees have always returned.
