BMC To Come Up With Guidelines On Pet Animals In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to come up with a comprehensive guideline for keeping pet animals in households.

Such an action of the civic body came after an incident of a minor boy mauled by a pet dog in Bhubaneswar.

BMC Commissioner Vijay Amrut Kulange urged pet owners to ensure that there is enough space within their own houses for keeping animals.

Moreover, there will be provision to give importance to complaints about whether any pet animal is creating problems for neighbours and others.

The guidelines will also provide details for regular vaccination of pets. Besides, people are not allowed to keep pets without taking permission from the BMC.

The people need to go for the registration of the pets in the BMC office after the permission of the veterinary doctor about the vaccination.
