Minor Dies As School Gate Collapses On Her In Rayagada

Rayagada: A 12-year-old girl student studying in class 5 at the Upper Primary School in Bicchikot under Padmapur block died after the school gate collapsed on her Friday.

The deceased girl student has been identified as Ahuti Sabar of the same locality.

According to sources, the incident took place this noon when Ahuti and some other students were passing by the gate.

Suddenly, the school gate collapsed on them, and among all the students, Ahuti became critical.

She was immediately rushed to the Government Hospital at Padmapur by 108 Ambulance service and was later shifted to Sub Divisional Hospital at Gunupur.

However, she passed away while undergoing treatment at the Sub Divisional Hospital at Gunupur.

A pall of gloom descended on Bicchikot village following the unfortunate incident.
