Plus-II student goes missing in Bhubaneswar; family lodges complaint against college

Bhubaneswar: In a matter of concern, a Plus II student reportedly went missing in the capital city on Saturday following harassment in the hands of his institutions chairman.

The victim has been identified as Hrudesh Panda, a student of a private college located in Patia area of the city.

As per Hrudesh’s father Ram Krushna Panda, he made a phone call around 4 PM on Friday and reported that the chairman of his college thrashed him in a ragging related issue. Later, he was ordered to leave the institution.

The victim’s father advised him to have patience and assured that he will be reaching Bhubaneswar soon from Paradip Port, where he asks. However, reaching Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning Ramkrushna couldn’t be able to trace him.

The college Chairman also remained incommunicado.

Later, Ramkrushna lodged a case in connection with the incident at Chandrasekharpur Police Station.

Based on the complaint a police team visited the institution and carried out the preliminary investigation.

Police had not succeeded in tracing the missing student till the filing of this report.
