‘Honour Killing’ of a Man by His Brothers-in-Law in Haryana

Chandigarh: A man was brutally hacked to death by his brothers-in-law in Haryana’s Yamunagar. Family of the wife of the deceased was opposed to his marriage.

The deceased identified as Abhishek, married Rishu in 2023. The couple was living in Zirakpur in Punjab.

The woman’s brothers, who were against Abhishek’s marriage to their sister, tracked him down while he was travelling to Yamunanagar to attend a relative’s wedding along with some friends.

Two brothers of Rishu attacked Abhishek and his friends with a sword. Abhishek was killed while his friends were seriously injured.

The police have arrested five persons including the attackers. Rishu, the victim’s wife, is living with her in-laws and is safe, informed the police.
