CDPO Caught Red-Handed While Taking Bribe in Jharsuguda Dist

Jharsuguda: Sarojini Ekka, a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) posted in Jharsuguda district was apprehended by the vigilance officials, while she was accepting a bribe worth Rs 40,000 on Saturday.

Sarojini Ekka is the CDPO (Urban ) of Jharsuguda district. She had demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.40,000 from a president of a self-help group, for the release of the pending Chhatua bill of the previous four months.

She was arrested by the vigilance officials. Following her arrest, simultaneous searches were made at two other locations related to the CDPO to probe the disproportionate assets angle. A case has been registered against her under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. An investigation is underway.
