Ganja Smugglers Attack raiding Excise Team, Inspector & Constable Injured in Koraput

Koraput: Members of a ganja smugglers gang attacked and injured an excise inspector and a constable in the Kotpad area of Koraput district.

This attack occurred while a team of the excise department raided a den of the ganja mafia near Ghodahada village under the Kotpad police station on Friday night.

Excise inspector Durbadhala Biswal and constable Meghnada Sabar were seriously injured in this attack. Both were admitted to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH).

Following a tip-off, teams of the Jeypore-Borigumma excise range had raided a spot in the forest near Ghodahada village. Around 20 to 25 miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons.

Receiving information, personnel of Kotpad police station rushed to spot but the ganja smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
