Minor Girl’s Rapist Gets 20 Yrs Jail Sentence in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: The Special POCSO Court in Sundargarh sentenced Telesafar Topno to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him for raping a minor girl three years back.

The convict would have to undergo five months of extra imprisonment if he failed to pay the penalty.

The court directed the District Legal Service Authority to provide Rs 7 lakh financial support to the rape survivor.

In January 2020, Tapno sexually assaulted the minor girl, who was staying with her grandmother after the death of her parents. He raped the victim while her grandmother was not at home.
