Policeman, Gangster Die in Exchange of Fire in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: A gangster was shot dead in an encounter with the police near Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua on Tuesday night. A probationary Sub-Inspector named Deepak Sharma, who was seriously injured during the exchange of fire with the gangster, , died during treatment on Wednesday.

Another special police officer Anil Kumar was also injured during this gunfight.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of cops chased gangster Vasudev, a murder accused, which led to a gunfight near the Government Medical College hospital in Kathua at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday.

Vasudev was killed in the encounter. One of his associates was injured in the encounter.
