Telangana Cop Among Gang of 7 Arrested in Malkangiri for Ganja Smuggling

Malkangiri: A gang of seven persons involved in ganja smuggling was nabbed by the personnel of the Kalimela police station in Malkangiri district on Thursday. The arrested persons included a police constable from Telangana.

The arrested Telangana police constable was identified as R Sreeny Naik. Kalimela police intercepted the cannabis smuggling gang near Kamala Padar. Around 103 kilograms of marijuana was seized from their possession.

The other items seized from them included two cars, three iPhones, ATM cards, PAN cards, and Aadhaar cards.

The cannabis loaded on both cars was to be transported from Malkangiri to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The arrested persons including the Telangana policeman were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
