PM Modi Inaugurates, Lays Foundation Stones Of Projects Worth ₹19,600 Crore In Odisha

Chandikhole: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of developmental projects in Odisha today, totalling a staggering Rs 19,600 Crore.

Among the key highlights, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery was inaugurated, aimed at reducing India’s import dependency.

Additionally, a 344 km-long product pipeline linking Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal was inaugurated, along with a 0.6 MMTPA LPG Import facility at Paradip, enhancing import infrastructure on the Eastern Coast.

Road infrastructure received a significant boost with the dedication of four-laning projects including Singhara to Binjabahal, Binjabahal to Tileibani, Balasore-Jharpokharia, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Sections of various national highways. Furthermore, the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole-Paradip Section was laid.

In the railway sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 162 Km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line, facilitating efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore. The inauguration of the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar aims to boost domestic and international trade. Various other railway projects were flagged off during the event.

A significant stride towards water management was marked with the inauguration of a 5 MLD capacity seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I) Ltd.

The event was attended by Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
